Climate change is one reason many parts of NSW experienced the warmest May on record, Weatherzone says.
The commercial weather information provider said average temperatures for the month of May were the warmest on record.
Sydney's May average of 23 degrees was well above the long-term norm of 19 degrees, making it the mildest May since 1958.
"It can be put down to a lack of significant cold changes but it is also a sign of climate change that we are now seeing unfold across Australia," Weatherzone meteorologist Matt Pearce said in a statement.
"This is consistent with the trend towards warmer temperatures globally that we have seen in the last decade."
Cold nights this week prevented temperature records being set in Sydney with the mercury dropping to as low as eight degrees on Wednesday night.
In terms of rain, a substantial band of storms blanketed most of the state on May 18, bringing 94mm to Tibooburra.
It was the wettest May for the north-west town in 118 years of records.
Sydney recorded only 10mm of rain last month - far short of the normal 123mm, making it the driest May since 2004.'

P.S. aan iedere stemgerechtigde lezer: GOED stemmen he!
Well done Luna!!
